Job Role: Loan Officer/Member Service Representative
Position Reports To: Branch Manager (onsite)
Summary Responsibilities:
The Loan Officer/Member Services Representative position provides services to members and prospectives of the credit union and is involved in the daily operations of the credit union. This includes attending to requests (in person, emails and phone calls), cash handling, performing a variety of account maintenance duties and compliance duties, daily review and reconciliation of transactions to the books, and preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statements. The role participates in actively cross-selling credit union products and services to raise membership and deposits, finance-related functions, and other administrative duties. The role is responsible for all types of consumer loans from loan initiation to processing, closing, loan administration, and collections. The role will perform specific assigned side jobs and projects and assist other employees with duties as required. The role will serve members promptly, courteously, and professionally; and perform other duties as requested by management.
Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or other Business-related field.
Knowledge: Knowledge of member service and loan operations and procedures. Basic understanding of Credit Union operations. Hands-on training is available.
Experience: Three years’ experience with shares(deposits), loans and credit underwriting, and/or member service experience in a credit union or other financial institutions is an added advantage.
Working Hours: Must be available to work onsite on business days. Will work weekends and after hours from time to time during major events and campaigns.
Skills/Abilities: Good communication skills, professional appearance, dress, and attitude. Basic Accounting and analytical skills. Ability to compute financial service items, such as annual percentage rates and yields. Ability to operate a computer and customary office machines. The position has high exposure to confidential member information as it is imperative to ensure the privacy and protection of member information. Requires extensive, direct communication with members, vendors, auditors, regulatory bodies, Board and Supervisory Committee, and staff in a timely fashion while maintaining a pleasant, courteous, and professionally positive attitude.
